Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered?

Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered - piano jazz standard. "Bewitched, Bothered and Bewildered" is a show tune and popular song from the 1940 Rodgers and Hart musical "Pal Joey".

I'm just learning to play jazz piano, and I recorded this just for fun in one take with no practice! I'll work on the ropy sections, don't worry - this isn't a finished performance, rather a wee test run to spur me on to completing pieces & getting my theory book out!

Playing the Piano & Discussing Music in Gaelic

Submitted by Cailean on Fri, 12/09/2016 - 16:21

This is a short excerpt from a series where I was persuaded to take to the piano keyboard and then say a little about the role music plays in my life, through the medium of the Scottish Gaelic language.

The guy who is speaking before the music at the beginning of this short clip is actually my father, discussing his many years serving the public in various jobs.

Handel: "V'adoro, pupille"

I bought the DVDs of this production of Handel's opera Giulio Cesare in Egitto (Julius Caesar in Egypt) from eBay 2 years ago. It was an Oxfam Shop down south in England was selling it secondhand as mint - it costs a small fortune new off the shelf! Anyway, it is one of the best DVDs I have ever seen - Glyndebourne Opera seem to be able to pull off unbelievable productions.

I love Post Modern Jukebox

These folks Postmodern Jukebox are great -.you can't beat a good 1920-40's slinky vibe, with a modern (or is it "postmodern"?) twist :) PS check out the harpist - playing a key part in the intro and then sitting back and enjoying the song whilst sitting it out - only to come back much later on. Now there's a professional (I'd have been tempted to nip out for a bag of chips)! PPS I'm officially in love with Haley Reinhart

Updated Site December 2016

I have decided to switch my technological allegiances - from Joomla Content Management System to Drupal 8 CMS.

Joomla did me proud over the years, and I'll happily say hello to it and keep it on my Christmas card list. But what I had regarded as it's poorer cousin, Drupal, has grown up rapidly into a rather powerful solution for building constant and easy to manage websites.

So, in that I'm likely to be using it more in the future, it makes sense to bring it into play to power CMacAulay.org

Here's to the future!
